Lessons of a Labradoodle:

Katana Gets A Family

Katana longs for a family-people she can love who will love her back and teach her new and interesting things. Unfortunately, the first family to take Katana home brings her back to the shelter, where she feels lonely and abandoned. Then, Katana meets Ashley and Jacky! They teach Katana many lessons, and Katana reciprocates, teaching them many lessons in return.

Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

If you would like to donate in honor of Katana here is a website that helps families who have pets suffering from EPI. This website gives information, resources and medications for dogs and cats experiencing this disease.

Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) is a malabsorption and maldigestion condition where the pancreas is no longer producing enough pancreatic enzymes to digest fats, carbohydrates and proteins. This leads to maldigestion and malabsorption causing weight loss, loose stools, coprophagia, SIBO / SID (small intestinal dysbiosis), low B12. EPI in dogs and cats is manageable with the right balance of pancreatic enzymes with every meal, an agreeable diet, B12 supplementation if needed, along with appropriate SID management with prebiotics, or prebiotics with probiotics, or antibiotics if needed to get SID under control. Many of the medications and food are costly and we would love for you to donate in Katana’s name to help families that are working in helping their pets get healthy.
